At age 14, Galante was the youngest person ever to head a multi-national canoe safari down the Zambezi River. This is just one of many examples of his early adventures. Galante is truly passionate about education and helping people save our most valuable resource-our planet. His expertise with wildlife and his scientific background are assets to biological groups around the world as he usually partners with local groups to explore remote regions. As a naturalist, Galante attempts to leave a positive, biological impact no matter if he's searching for fresh-water turtles in Africa or Komodo dragons in Indonesia.
Forrest Galante has caught crocodiles, swam with several species of sharks, photographed venomous snakes, outsmarted a startled hippo, dodged an angry panther and had countless other adventures. He started out his career in high-risk wildlife biology fieldwork, always focusing on animals on the edge of extinction. His approach to wildlife, love for nature and exceptional background eventually led to the development of his own Animal Planet television show, 'Extinct or Alive.' The show shadows Forrest as he travels the earth searching for creatures believed to be extinct.
